Great interview with Dam Funk.
While DJing at Madrone a few month back for I <3 the 90’s a young lady came to the booth to make a request. We got her song queued up and we started chatting about music. The young lady mentioned a group I had not heard of named Little Dragon out of Gothenburg, Sweden. Anyone who knows me, knows I have an affinity for a pillow-talk-esque female vocals, funky basslines and synthy layers. Little Dragon’s newest album Machine Dreams has something for everyone. Some of the stand out tracks include My Step, Feather, and Swimming ( the track also has a great remix by Zick on the full album ). The band is composed of Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano on vocals, and percussion, Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass), and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards). If you are in San Francisco April 13-14 you can check out LD at the Independent along with V.V. Brown ( who had a great show a few months ago at 330 Ritch). —AG

They set the standard, and when the authorities shut them down, pirate sounds went into the urban underground.
